Theatre 55 stages two fully-produced musicals each year with large multi-cultural casts of actors 55+.

Shows are chosen for their sheer entertainment value, but also for how casting older adults in all of the roles can enhance the meaning of the plays themselves.

Past productions include: Hair, Pippin, Rent, Rocky Horror Show, and many more.

Each of these plays took on greater resonance as issues of freedom, poverty, community and family in the shows are filtered through the lens of the challenges of aging.

From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation, The Producers, comes this monster musical comedy. The comedy genius, Mel Brooks, adapts his legendarily funny film into a brilliant stage creation – Young Frankenstein!
