SUMMARY:The Play’s THE Thing: Play reading and discussion
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Jeffery Goodson \n\n\n\nLike Book Club on steroids! \n\n\n\nA six week course for actors and audience members alike to examine and analyze a selection of six different plays\, a mix of both familiar and new. \n\n\n\nEach week we’ll read a different play and discuss plot\, characters\, conflicts\, language\, and intent. Participants will have an opportunity to “act out” scenes and analyze the importance of each scene to the play as a whole\, and focus on dialogue and discovery.  \n\n\n\nThe six shows we’ll be discussing: \n\n\n\n\nOn Golden Pond (Ernest Thompson comedy/drama)\n\n\n\nSweeney Todd (Sondheim musical)\n\n\n\nOur Town (Thornton Wilder classic)\n\n\n\nWest Side Story/Romeo and Juliet (Bernstein musical/Shakespeare)\n\n\n\nThe Mousetrap (Agatha Christie murder mystery)\n\n\n\nSteel Magnolias (Robert Harling comedy)
